Hello fellow 49 and Market Friends!
It’s Nikki Sher back to share some fun cards I made using the new Beach Vibes Collection designed by Dennis Bruton. I have to say, this collection is amazing! The imagery and colors are excellent and just perfect for summer!
For these cards, I used the 6×8 Collection Pack which is perfect for card making. The images from the 12×12 paper are scaled down nicely for a smaller size and there is a nice assortment of solids and repeating patterns included in the pack. And since three pieces of each paper come in the pack, there is plenty to choose from.
For this card set, I chose to use the Laser Cut Elements and Chipboard Words as embellishments. To help with assembly, I separate all of these from their packaging and then divided them into like items in various trays. This way when I go to look for something in the ephemera it’s arranged in an order I can pick through easily.
For these card designs, I wanted to really showcase the patterned paper and the ephemera. Really you can’t go wrong, but I made sure to choose patterned paper that really showcased the image I was using. For example, on the “Catch the Wave” card, I chose a paper that would showcase the Jeep laser cut – and doesn’t it just pop off the card?
Overall, designing these cards was so much fun to make and I hope I’ve given you a few techniques to try when making your next card or layout! What do plan to make with the new Beach Vibes Collection?
