Hello creative friends,
I’m kicking off November with a Halloween-themed project. I know not everyone celebrates this holiday, but I simply adore it! I start decorating in early October and slowly build throughout the month, then scrapbook the photos in November to continue the magic 🤣. This layout features a decorated corner of my house, I hope you like it.

As you can see in the photo, the theme of the setup is bats and cobwebs, the patterned one from the Halloween bundle was absolutely perfect and I had to use it!
To make it even more special and three-dimensional I decided to apply the white rub-ons and blend with the Ranger ink in the off the rails coloring in order to create darker shades that highlighted the photo.

For the layout I decided on a central composition, under the photo I decided to insert a frame with vellum paper inside to allow a glimpse of the background and play on overlaps.

Then I continued with the layering, playing with double-sided adhesive tape of different thicknesses and embellishments. As always, I mixed different textures: lasercut, diecut, and stickers. I also created a sealing wax seal and inserted a diecut and a button from my collection with the word BOO, which matches the wording in the photo.

To tone down the monochromatic effect, I wanted to insert some orange embellishments such as pumpkins and the sticker with the number 31 in 3 focal points to make the focus on the photo.

As you can see from this and the previous photos, I included a lot of bats in my project. I cut these bats out of a second identical patterned piece so I could layer them over the background ones and create a 3D effect. If you’re not aware, Saturday, October 25th was World Fussy Cutting Day (find the group on Facebook) to celebrate Sharon and heart health. These bats were fussy cut specifically to celebrate this important day.

And here we are with the result, I’m always happy to be able to show you all the little details, especially in profile, because often a single photo doesn’t convey the three-dimensional effect.
