Hi friends, and welcome to the 49 and Market blog!
Rebecca here with a fun Halloween-themed layout to share with you today. With Halloween just around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to create a spooky-cute project using the Halloween Assortment from Vicki Boutin’s Curiosities of Willow Grove collection.

To get started, I selected patterned papers that coordinated with the colours in my photos. For the background, I chose a grey-toned grid paper — I loved the subtle detailing it offered. To add a bold contrast and a pop of colour, I incorporated a bright orange paper.
Next, I picked out a few polaroid-style frames from the Frame Necessities 2 pack, backed them with my photos, and adhered them at an angle to create a more dynamic look. Behind the photos, I added a torn vertical strip of the bright orange striped paper, placing it slightly off-center. I then balanced this by offsetting the photos slightly in the opposite direction.

For embellishing, I selected a handful of Laser Die-Cuts from the assortment pack. I kept the embellishments simple and minimal to ensure the focus stayed on the photos. A few coordinating stickers from the collection added just the right finishing touches.

For the title, I used a larger die-cut piece, positioning it on the left side of the layout. To balance it visually, I placed a larger house embellishment on the right.
With the main elements in place, I turned my attention to the background. I pulled out a spider web stencil from my stash and used one of the new 49 and Market x Ranger ink pads in the shade ‘Off the Rails’. Using a blending brush, I softly applied the ink through the stencil in several areas to add some spooky detail. To finish off the layout, I added dramatic black ink splatters for that extra Halloween flair.
