Perfect Day – Layout by Valeska

Hello, 49 and Market Friends,

Valeska here today and I’m so excited to share my first layout using the new and beautiful One Perfect Day collection from Joanne Bain. I know it’s a super romantic collection with a wedding theme, but I really loved the color palette and the balloons, and I thought it would be perfect for a photo of my daughter on her birthday.

I chose the Tender Moments paper from the 12×12 collection of patterned papers. I knew I wanted to cut it to show the striped side of the back. And there was nothing better than tearing it and rolling the paper up, showing its pattern then roughed up the edges with a distress tool. Then I adhered it to the Solids Paper 2 from the coordinating 12×12 Paper Solids pack. I couldn’t miss a little white stitching on the solid paper to give it even more contrast and texture.

I put my daughter’s photos in different positions with the balloons, applied rub-ons to the top to give more depth to the laser cut balloons that I added on top of the rub-ons. I added some laser cuts of balloons coming out of the photos too, making it all one thing. I also used flowers, gifts, and cameras from the Laser Cut Element Set and Wildflowers. These elements are more geared towards celebrating birthdays rather than weddings, but as the love for our children is also enormous, hearts were also added.

I used the title Perfect Day from the Chipboard words package next to the photos, highlighting this focal point even more. In the solid paper area, I left the subtitle Sweet Moments also from Chipboard Words, grouped with some flowers and Epoxy stickers.

To finish, a splash of white acrylic paint to give the layout even more lightness and unity.
