Hey friends!
Brianna here today and I’m so excited to share another layout using the new Curiosities in Willow Grove collection. For this layout, I’m using the Halloween Assortment Pack and if you haven’t gotten your hands on this set yet, trust me when I say, it’s a really good one!!! It’s the perfect mini kit in my opinion and it has everything you need to create some Halloween projects. Here’s’ my page:
When I was first thinking of my design for this page, I knew I wanted to add in some of the new inks that I just received. So I chose a piece of textured white cardstock as my base and then I smooshed the Lavender Kisses, Daffodil and Just Peachy ink pads onto my work surface. I sprayed some clean water on each one and then did some simple watercoloring with each color. I painted Daffodil first, followed by Just Peachy and lastly Lavender Kisses. I made sure to include some ink splatters around each one as well. It’s very subtle and soft, exactly what I wanted! This collection has a bold, vintage vibe and I didn’t want anything too dark to distract from it.
I also wanted to pull in some pattern, so I took the striped paper from the pack and trimmed out two 1×12″ strips and adhered them to the left and right side of my page. I then matted my photo using another patterned paper and then layered a few paper scraps behind it. I made sure to pop all of the paper layers up on foam tape for some dimension and interest.
Next, I pulled out the Sticker Sheet and Die Cut Cardstock Sheet from the kit and started to embellish. I love that they included title options so I chose the ‘October Magic’ piece as my title. I selected three spider webs and used them as grounding places for my embellishment clusters. I added in some pumpkins, ghosts, a couple of tags and the ’31s’ and ‘Eeek’ pieces as little subtitles.
For some finishing touches, I sprinkled in a few of the yellow stars from both the sticker and cardstock sheets and then added in some black in splatters to pull everything together. Here’s one last look:
