It’s Rebecca here today, sharing my very first layout created with the beautiful new Whispering Way collection, designed by the talented Joanne Bain.
Whispering Way is such a wonderful collection with a rustic, farmyard–harvest feel. It’s absolutely perfect for me—having a young child means I have plenty of farm-themed photos and memories to scrapbook!
As I often do when working with a new collection, I spent a little time admiring all the patterned papers before selecting my favourite for the background. I’m always drawn to the more subtle designs that add gentle texture and interest without overpowering the photo or overall composition. Once I had my background chosen, I pulled out a few chipboard frames from the Chipboard Assortment and backed them with my two photos.
Next, I arranged the frames in the centre of my layout and began embellishing around them. I chose some gorgeous florals and mesh pieces from the Wildflower Laser Cuts, tucking them behind the photos to create layers and dimension. From the Laser Cut Elements, I couldn’t resist adding a few adorable farm animals—some goats (of course, since there’s a goat in my photos!), a hay bale, and a little chicken.
For my title, I selected a chipboard word and placed it neatly beneath my photos. I love using chipboard words for titles whenever possible—they’re sturdy, add depth, and make the page feel beautifully finished.
To complete the layout, I added a few Rub-On Transfers—including a coloured tile pattern and some faux stitching—along with some subtle stamping using the 49 and Market x Ranger Ink Pads in Salted Caramel and Fossil. I love how these small details pull everything together and give the layout that polished final touch.
