Valeska here today on the blog sharing my last layout.
When I first looked at the background paper from the Curiosities in Willow Grove collection 12×12 Patterned papers, I knew it would guide the entire creative process. The delicate illustrations and vintage tones instantly brought to mind a peaceful walk in the park, observing nature´s little details.
To tell the story, I choose three photos in sequence – moments of enjoying the walk, reaching out to touch flowers, and taking in the scenery. Together, they create movement across the page, almost like a film strip capturing the flow of that day.
Clusters placed in key areas help direct the eye while adding softness and balance. I layered rub-ons from Essential rub-ons transfer from the same collection,seamlessly into the design, giving each cluster more depth and a touch of realism without overpowering the photos.
The butterflies, frames and delicate flowers bring whimsical feelings, emphasizing the joy of discovering beauty everywhere.
The title is perfect for the moment “Observations From this day” and completes the floral cluster.
This layout is all about slowing down, enjoying the simple and noticeable magic of everyday moments- something this collection makes so easy to express.
