Rugged – Layout by Julie

Hello everyone & welcome back to the 49 and Market blog.
Julie back with you today & I’m sharing a layout using the new Rust and Revs 2.0. This is a fabulous collection, full of grungy papers & interesting icons, gears, old doors & great quotes!!!

The subject of this page is my hubby on an amazing trip, on a helicopter, over the Grand Canyon. We landed in the Grand Canyon & I managed to snap this photo & thought it perfect to use with this collection.
I first added some texture paste through a stencil to solid sheet paper 4 & added a bit of ink over the top. I slightly cut down this paper, distressed all the edges & added onto solid sheet paper 1, sewing in a few places around the edge.

I fussy cut out the cog from one of the papers from the 6×8 paper pad & added it centrally & to the right. This formed the base of my photo mat.

I layered my photo onto some patterned papers, out the 6×8 paper pad & added that on top of the gear. I die cut out a circle element & added to the bottom right & built up my clusters around the photo using die cut elements, laser cut elements & chipboard frames.

I pulled up the bottom left edge, distressed the edge & stapled into place. Here I added another small cluster & used the Rub On Transfers to add the quote.

I used more Rub On Transfers to add the words in the frame, left of the photo & to add interest around the page. These are great for adding small bits & go on so easily. My title came out the chipboard words & frames pack & I added it vertically on the photo.
This collection is so unique & I can’t wait to mix it in with the first Rust and Revs & see what can be made.
