Moon Child – Layout by Sneha

Hello lovely crafters!
This is Sneha, and today I am sharing my first layout using the brand new collection, Starlight Dreams, designed by Dennis Bruton. This collection is absolutely beautiful, especially the combination of blues and gold. I hope you like this layout.

I went through all the beautiful papers from the collection and chose the Enchanting paper as my base, along with one of the papers from the 12×12 solid paper collection. I cut the paper to about 4” and roughly distressed both edges. I also took a vellum sheet from my stash and placed it on top.

I started by stamping some text onto the vellum sheet and heating the embossing powder. I made sure to prime my base, as I planned to do some mixed media using texture paste on the paper. I used the 6×8 collection pack for the photo mats, making sure they were 1 cm larger than my photo. The photo and this collection matched perfectly.

I went through all the laser-cut elements and ephemera pieces. I gave the lady in the photo wings from the laser-cut elements and built the composition around it. I chose several flower elements and arranged them until I was happy with the result. I also went through the die-cut elements and chose one of the beautiful frames among many others.

Adding Rub-on transfers to my layout is my current favorite step in building my composition. There are two different packs of Rub-ons, with so many to choose from. I then added the chipboard word Moon Child from the pack, which I thought was perfect for my picture and composition. Lastly, I added some pearls, sequins, and glitter from my stash.

To complete my design, I added some splatters of black and gold, which made everything feel cohesive.
