Ho,ho,ho!
It’s Christmas Time!
Even though it’s August, it’s never too early to think about Christmas; whether it’s preparing for the coming Christmas or recovering photos you never scrapped due to lack of time. With this project, I’m reclaiming one of the many photos I’ve taken but never printed. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year, but I often can’t concentrate on scrapbooking because I’m so busy with so many things to do. Is that the case for you too?
Needless to say, I started with the patterned paper. This interplay of green and stripes, which echoes the two photos taken in Place Vendome, is absolutely perfect. And the title, which plays on the reference to the city of lights (Paris), is absolutely perfect for me!

As you can see from the photo, I played with layering many elements under and around the photos: rub-ons with stains and writing, laser-cut elements like flowers and bows, die-cuts, and vellum paper. I inserted one element in the corner with a thickened die-cut above a ruby and a small laser decoration. I also used a diecut to stamp the date.

To emphasize the point in the photo, I sewed a stitch along the join between the two paper patterns. Then I melted some chalk to create small spots and inserted small stars that match the gold colors of the carousel.

I love how the laser-cut branches match the needles in the photo—did you notice? They’re so perfect 😍.
This time, instead of a caption, I let the stickers “speak” and found one that was absolutely perfect for the Parisian shopping square.

I hope you’ve felt a bit of Parisian Christmas spirit, and perhaps a desire to go shopping and/or travel.
