Hello creative friends,
here I am, after a while, with a new layout and finally the opportunity to inaugurate this beautiful new collection (Botanical Buzz, designed by Dennis Bruton). It’s a delicate collection, with late-summer colors and wonderful watercolor effects. To celebrate this new chapter in my home, a first detail of my family’s new kitchen, the colors and vibes were perfect.
As always, I started with the photo and the choice of patterned paper.
I immediately fell in love with this paper and its colors, and even the title was a perfect match between the photo and the patterned paper.
I wanted to enhance the photo with delicate three-dimensional elements, so I placed some diamonds underneath the photo to further enrich the background and these honeycomb diecuts. I also used the diecuts’ texture to insert laser-cut flowers into the diamonds, as if they were in small vases.
I played with different thicknesses and geometric shapes using the thick double-sided tape and by inserting hexagonal frames and some of the slightly distressed honeycomb embellishments.
I also repeated this group of embellishments at the top of my layout, adding, as a sort of second caption, this rubon which has a beautiful message.
Finally, I highlighted the central diamond of the pattern by simply tracing it with a marker and adding some rubons writing along the edges. I also fell in love with the effect of these puffy stickers; they’re gorgeous!
And here’s the result!
What I personally love about this layout is that it seems very simple despite having so many little details that I love, and that’s exactly the effect I was going for: simple and fresh.
