Hello, 49 and Market Friends,
I am so happy to share my first post as part of the 49 and Market design team for 2023.
I’m Valeska and I live in Portugal. I love making mini albums, double pages in my notebook or journal, and 12×12 layouts. You will notice that my style is a bit clean, and I also use a lighter Mixed Media. I look forward to showing you a little bit of my work and what I will create with the beautiful collections of this wonderful brand.
For today, I want to share with you this 12×12 layout that I prepared with the beautiful ARToptions Plum Grove collection. I used two papers: one for my base was the Orchard paper and then for my main piece, I used the Flight of Fancies, trimming it to 11×11 to give a ½ inch border all the way around. On the top left and bottom right edges, I rolled up the end of the paper with a pencil, leaving part of the back of the paper showing.
On the right side of my butterflies paper, I applied Rub-on transfers Essential Textblends Eggplant leaves and the little phrase Love my family. And on top of it, I have chosen two acetate pieces from the Essential Filmstrips Plum to compose my page as well as ephemera pieces and Laser Cut elements. To frame the photo of my family on our trip to Paris last summer, the perfect Whitewash chipboard frame from Vintage Artistry Essentials. This collection is perfect for documenting those special family moments. I have also added more laser cut and ephemera pieces to the right of the photograph to balance the composition.
The Plum Grove Chipboard word set is perfect, and I have used “Treasured Today” as a title with foam stickers to add depth and highlight them.
To finish my page, I glued the butterflies’ ephemera just in the middle of the image, lifting the wings to give the impression that they are coming out of the paper. Added some Chipboard set too near them.
The final touch was to apply some small Plum and Thistle flowers to the arrangement that I had already prepared on the right side of my frame with laser cut flowers, tags, and ephemera.
