Hello Everyone!
It is such a privilege to be welcoming you to the fabulous 49 and Market Blog today! I am one of the new kids on the block and this is my very first blog post with the very first layout that I have created for them! When I saw the ARToptions Plum Grove collection, it was love at first sight. All those pretty purple colors! From the Laser Cut Elements to the Rub-On Transfer Set.
From the beautiful Papers to the Chipboard Word Set. And much more, this collection has it all!
I chose the gorgeous Blossom paper for my background. I love the soft, subtle colors. Perfect for my composition. I wanted the design of this layout to pop off the page, and I think I got that with this choice of background. On the upper left of the photo, I placed a couple of the Rub-Ons from the Rub-On transfer set under the purple frame from the Laser Cut Elements. Placing the frame here at an angle gives balance to the layout. I carried the Rub-Ons down the side of the frame ending with the flower cluster. Under the chipboard pieces from 2Crafty, I placed a small cluster of flowers also from the Laser Cut Elements pack. This was to add fullness and dimension under the every so pretty Nature’s Bounty Soft Lilac Flowers.
Here is the title from the Chipboard Word Set. Soooo many titles to choose from! I chose “Spiced” as the title because of the photo. She’s a little sassy, and her attitude shows! The title, along with the little word strip underneath, which clarifies her attitude, was perfect! I placed the word strip on one of the little bookplates from the Chipboard Set. I wanted a splash of color under the title, so I cut a piece of the Color Wash Rub-On Transfer Sheet and added here at an angle to kind of match the angle of the frame up top.
On the bottom right of the photo, I started with the Essential Filmstrips Blossom. I turned them over and used the underside so I could get that gorgeous lavender color that matches the layout. Although the pink of the “right” side is very pretty, I’ll save that for another day! I then placed a flower cluster from the Laser Cut Elements under the flower from the Nature’s Bounty Soft Lilac pack for added fullness and interest. A couple more pieces of 2Crafty Chipboard with a small cut off Rub-On in the center and this cluster is done.
I absolutely love these vines from the Laser Cut Elements pack. I placed them coming up and over just a little bit of the photo. I think they add just the right finishing touch to the flower cluster. I added 2 hearts here ( and 2 on the bottom left) to add some charm and whimsy with a piece from the Chipboard Set to set them off.
