Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here and I’m so excited to share a layout with you today featuring the new Color Swatch Ochre collection. I’m such a big fan of monochromatic layouts, so these are always a lot of fun to create. Here’s my page:
To start, I went through the 12×12 patterned papers and ended up choosing Paper 4. It has a honeycomb print on it and I thought it would be neat to add a large hexagon shape using my sewing machine. I pulled out a hexagon stacked die set from my stash and traced the largest one directly onto my paper. I then ran it through my sewing machine a few times using white thread. It’s subtle, but I really like how it gives my photo and embellishments a foundation.
I chose to have two embellishment clusters on this page. One with my photo and one with some pieces layered up together. I started with the Rub-On Transfer Set and applied several at the top left and bottom right of the stitched hexagon. Since I wanted to keep my clusters around the hexagon, I naturally gravitated towards embellishing using the Mini Laser Cut Elements. I wanted everything to be central to the hexagon and didn’t want it to get lost behind larger pieces. I layered a few of those elements behind my photo and popped everything up on foam tape. By doing this, I was able to create places for me to tuck even more smaller elements in here and there. I love the look of so many pieces joined together!
Here’s another look at all of the layers. Other than sprinkling in some Enamel Dots and bits of tangled thread in, I didn’t add any other embellishments. I mainly focused on using the Mini Laser Cut Elements and adding in more flowers and leaves from that pack. I did adhere a few butterflies from the pack, making sure to only add adhesive to their centers, so that I could pop their wings up.
Here’s one last look at this soft page. I love this patterned paper so much. It provides the perfect foundation for the rest of my layout.
