It’s Claire on the blog today sharing a layout made with Color Swatch Willow.
I love to spend time outside in nature and this collection was perfect for getting those memories documented. Willow boasts beautiful shades of green, exquisite florals, foliage and patterns that I just adore!
For my layout, I’m documenting a visit to Cloud Forest in Singapore – it’s like a tropical rainforest built inside a dome with beautiful botanicals that are perfect for Willow.
To start, I pulled out the 12×12 Paper Collection Pack, selecting Paper 1 as my base. Using the Ephemera Stackers, I created a large cluster to act as the anchor to my page. I layered some pieces flat and raised some slightly on thin foam to help give a little separation from the base paper.
Once this was in place, I took three photos (two are 2”x 3.5” and one at 3”x 5.5”). I stuck the two smaller photos together, slightly overlapping to create a small photo strip, and overlapped these on top of the larger photo. I raised all photos on foam, adding double to the smaller pictures to help them stand proud from the larger photograph.
I took one of the ephemera stackers with the diagonally striped edging and cut it in half so that I could have the striped edge just peeking out from each side of my photo cluster.
Moving onto the Laser Cut Elements, I created some small clusters around the photos, adding sentiments, tabs, tags and butterflies along with some leaves and florals, curling the edges to help bring the page to life.
To add a few extra florals, I opted for the Ocean Jade paper flowers, adding 2-3 flowers in each cluster, echoing the subject matter in my photographs.
Along the top, I also added a butterfly from the Rub-On Transfer Set.
As a final touch, I decided to create some rips in the paper and curl them back to draw your eye directly into the photos. To fill the gap, I used Paper 5, which brings a lovely strong pop of colour to the page, whilst also bringing extra texture and dimension.
