Hello 49 and Market Friends!
Today I am joining you on the 49 and Market blog with a single page I designed with the Color Swatch Willow Collection. It’s such a beautiful collection.
I selected two sheets from the Color Swatch Willow 12×12 Collection Paper Pack- paper 3 and paper 5 for my background. I ripped paper 3 along the right side, then ripped the piece that I had torn off again to give me a gap for the paper 5 to show underneath. Next I cut pieces from paper 4 to fit in some of the frames from the Willow Frame set. After gluing them to the frames I mounted all the frames on thin pieces of cardboard for dimension. I played with the placement of the frames until I was happy then glued them to the background. I then framed the photo and added a few pieces from the Willow Stackers pack underneath for layers. I mounted the layered photo on another piece of cardboard and then glued it on top of the other frames. I love the dimension it gave.
Next I started building my clusters. I chose some flower and leaf elements from the Willow Mini Laser Cut Elements pack, as well as a couple tickets, butterflies, and the cute little heart shaped buttons. For flowers I chose a pack of Royal Posies in Olive and a pack of Garden Petals in Twilight. Framing the photo, I started layering my clusters on a bed of distressed cheesecloth for added texture and to help soften all the squareness of the design.
I finished the clusters with a few pearls tucked here and there, and a little light green glitter in random spots for just a little more detail.
As a finishing touch to the design I used some rub-ons from the Willow Rub-on Transfers set around the frames to help soften the edges and add more detail. Lastly I added a few splatters of acrylic paint in a medium green.
