Adventure – Layout by Rebecca

Hi Friends,

I’m really excited to be joining you on the blog today sharing a new layout created with the wonderful Rust and Revs collection. As soon as I saw the collection, these photos of my son came to mind!

To begin, I cut some thin strips from several patterned papers from the Collection Pack and after distressing the edges, layered them onto a sheet of white cardstock.

On top of these strips, I added my 2 photos. The photos are quite busy and dark and so I used a lighter coloured patterned paper to matt both of them to help them ‘pop’.

Around the edge of the paper strips, I applied lots of rub-on transfers. I simply adore the 49 and Market rub-ons as they are such fabulous quality and once applied, they look like mixed media detailing on your layout!

Above my landscape photo, I added my title. I’ve used one of the die-cut elements – ‘Adventure’ as it worked perfectly for my photos and the colours also echoed the lighter shade of my photo matts.

Using a number of laser cut elements, I’ve embellished either side of my photos, creating 2 main clusters. I’ve selected several cactus die-cuts to match my photos. It almost feels to me as if the photos are being extended onto the layout.

At this point, I felt like the top half of the layout was too bare and so I decided to make a smaller cluster in the top right corner. I used smaller distressed paper strips, along with a smaller die-cut title. Behind these, I’ve applied more of the rub-on transfers and cactus die cuts.

I finished off the layout by adding some star die-cuts and some of the wishing bubble stickers.

Thanks so much for reading. I hope you like the layout and it offers you some inspiration.

See you next time!
