Hello fellow 49 & Market Friends!
Nikki Sher here to show you this fun project I made using the brand new Academia Collection and a Create-an-Album 6×8 Waterfall Enclosure. The thing that I love about these Create-an-Album pieces is that they can be used alone or in one of the many folios from 49 & Market. For now, I’m going to keep this piece as is, but should I decide to add to it later, I can put it in a Folio and add another Waterfall Enclosure or pick one of the other awesome add-ins.
Now some people might look at this collection and see only a school line. Not me! In fact, I saw the Book Worm paper and immediately thought of making some sort of reading log or favorite books album. So that’s exactly what I did!
I started by adding in the patterned papers I wanted to use to the Waterfall Enclosure. I chose the papers that seemed to be more generic patterns. I then picked a few of my favorite books or series of books that have meant the most to me over the years.
After deciding what books I wanted to use, I found images of the covers online and printed them. But I also needed a way to express why I loved these specific books so much.
I made a quick “Book Review” template and wrote why it made the list! After all of that I was ready to add everything to the album. Since the paper was already in place, I decided to add the books in a mostly chronological order. Then I went about adding in my favorite Die Cut Elements and Laser Cut Ephemera.
For the cover and inside cover, I wanted to give the feeling of an old library, so I stuck to those images to decorate with. I just love that window with brick! Looks like they took it right out of my local library! And that owl and all the stacks of books! They were just perfect for my project!
