Wonder – Layout by Rebecca

Hi friends, it’s lovely to see you here on the 49 and Market blog.
It’s Rebecca with you today, sharing my final design team layout. For this project, I’ve chosen the beautiful Whispering Way collection designed by Joanne Bain. With a young child, I’m never short of farm photos to scrap, and this collection couldn’t be more perfect for them.

I began by cutting thin strips from the Country Routes patterned paper. I had originally planned to use the side with the colourful squares, but as I was arranging the strips horizontally on my page, a few accidentally flipped over. I instantly fell in love with the rustic look of the reverse side—so I changed direction! I tore the edges of each strip at varying lengths to add interest and give the design more shape.

Next, I positioned my two photos on top of the strips, adding a layer of cheesecloth underneath for texture. I also used foam behind the photos to create dimension and ensure they remained the focal point of the page.

On either side of my photos, I built up clusters using pieces from the Laser Cut Elements and Wildflower Laser Cuts. I absolutely adore the cute farm animals in this collection, and I couldn’t resist including a couple of goats to match my photos.

For my title, I chose a sentiment from the Chipboard Set and placed it beneath the photos. To help extend the design toward the top and bottom of the strips, I added a few chipboard hearts.

As much as I love a clean white background, the layout felt like it needed a little something extra. I trimmed down my background cardstock, distressed all the edges, and then mounted the entire page onto a sheet of patterned paper. This helped frame the design beautifully and added a splash of colour.

49 and Market products:

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading.
I hope this layout inspires you and encourages you to get scrapping with this gorgeous collection.

I’d also like to take a moment to thank every single one of you for the support you’ve shown me during my two years on the 49 and Market Design Team. I’ve loved every moment and have cherished the chance to create with such stunning collections. Stepping down has been a very difficult decision, but life has become a little too busy, and I need to refocus on home for a while. I won’t be going far though—I’ll still be creating with 49 and Market whenever I find some spare time!

Thank you again.
Take care,
Rebecca xx
