Happy Christmas – Layout by Adri

Hello, 49 and Market fans!

Welcome to the blog today.

I am delighted to show you my latest project using the Mistletoe and Memories collection. This collection made it so easy to bring out the festive feel of these photos of my daughter-in-law, and I truly enjoyed putting it all together.

Happy Christmas - Double layout by Adri

For this double layout, I selected the two patterned papers with the black-and-white Christmas trees, Paper 6 and 8, from the Starters Collection Pack as my base. They make such a stunning foundation for this layout. The trees frame the design beautifully, instantly setting a festive woodland scene while still leaving plenty of space to layer and build on. I love how the monochrome trees provide a timeless backdrop that allows the red, green, and gold accents to really pop, making the whole layout feel both elegant and cheerful.

Each photo was matted and then layered on strips of patterned paper, along with an assortment of beautifully designed frames for extra interest. To build my clusters, I combined intricate laser-cut foliage and elements. The poinsettias are particularly striking with their detailed design, and I also tucked in a few black-and-white die-cuts to balance the colour palette.

On the background, I incorporated several Rub-on Transfers, including festive word art, delicate borders, snowflakes, stars, and script details. These Rub-ons are so versatile and add just the right touch of Christmas charm to any project.

Between the two photos, I created a focal cluster using the green December bingo card, embellished with icon, laser, and foliage die-cuts. Most of the elements were adhered with foam tape to achieve dimension.

On the right-hand page, I especially love the festive cluster next to the photo. The sweet little Christmas stocking paired with the Be Merry card brings such a playful touch, while the candles decorated with mistletoe add a cozy, heartwarming glow. I also tucked a tiny envelope into the cluster, detail that feels like a little hidden Christmas surprise waiting to be opened.
For my titles, I used Puffy Stickers “Happy Christmas” and “I’ve been good” which add wonderful texture and festive cheer.

As final touches, I scattered puffy hearts and dots throughout the layout and added splatters of diluted white gesso to create the look of falling snow.
