Hi everyone, and welcome to the 49 and Market blog!
It’s Rebecca here with you today, and I’m so excited to be sharing my very first layout using the brand-new Botanical Buzz collection. This gorgeous range, designed by the talented Dennis Bruton, is absolutely stunning! It’s one of those collections you instantly fall in love with—the kind that you’re desperate to use but almost too beautiful to cut into. The eternal dilemma of a scrapbooker, right?

After spending a little time admiring all the pretty details, I chose a background paper—surprisingly, it’s the bonus sheet on the back of the 12×12 Collection Pack cover! I loved the tiny, subtle details in the design, making it the perfect understated base for my layout.
Next, I grabbed the 6×8 Paper Pad and cut a mix of patterned paper strips. I chose a bold, busy print for interest and balanced it with a couple of more solid-coloured designs. I tore and distressed the edges before layering them slightly off-center on my background. To frame my photo, I used one of the gorgeous nesting hexagons from the Die-Cut Elements pack—hexagons are one of my absolute favourite shapes to work with! I then tucked two smaller hexagons behind the photo, nestled among the paper layers for added dimension.

Continuing the hexagon theme, I layered a honeycomb-style die cut diagonally behind my photo. I love how it flows naturally with the yellow barrier in the background of my photo—it almost looks like a continuation of the image. At the top of the photo, I tucked in a couple of tags from the Die-Cut Elements, punched eyelets into them, and threaded some metallic gold thread through to finish them off with sweet little bows for extra texture.
To complement the honeycomb piece, I added a cluster of Laser Cut Elements flowers, choosing colours that picked up on the hues in my photo.
For the title, I kept it simple and elegant with one of the phrases from the Chipboard Words pack, placing it just beneath the photo.

Before sticking everything down, I added some of the beautiful Rub-On Transfers to enhance the detail in the background. I also brought in a few stamped accents using several of my favorite 49 and Market stamps from Sizzix. Finally, I added a few metallic gold paint splatters, which really brought everything together. It’s amazing how those small details can elevate the entire layout!

To finish off, I added two small strips of Washi Tape Sheets for a final touch of pattern, along with a few sequins in coordinating colours for a bit of sparkle.
