It’s Rebecca with you today sharing my first layout for October. I was lucky enough to be in receipt of 3 new 49 and Market collections recently and it was so hard to decide which one to create with first, but I settled on the new Color Swatch Terracotta collection.
I was in the mood for a bit of mixed media, so I reached for a sheet of smooth white cardstock for my background. With a brayer, I applied some Distress Ink to my background. The shade ‘Victorian Velvet’ is a perfect colour match for this collection! I finished off the background with some ink splatters to vary the effect slightly.
I simply adore the Cardstock Frames and selected two with stitched detailing to frame my photos. I’m really enjoying scrapping photos of different orientation and size lately and so I chose one rectangle frame and one square frame.
Behind my photos, I started to build up some layers using elements from the Ephemera Stackets and Laser Cut Elements. Both of these packs are so generous and such good value for money – to date, I’ve not run out of either pack in any collection!
In among my layers, I added two floral elements from the Acetate Assortment. I purposely selected elements which included some green seeing as there is a lot of green in the background of my photos.
Around the edges of my central design, I’ve applied some of the amazing Rub-On Transfers. These 49 and Market rub-ons are so easy to apply and blend into your background so seamlessly to give a mixed-media effect.
To finish my layout, I’ve added a chipboard title from the new Birdsong collection (the shade of pink works so well with the Terracotta collection!) and a few sequins.
