Hello, Everyone!
Today I’m here to inspire you with the brand new stunning collection “Birdsong”. I chose paper 1 from the Birdsong Solids Collection and the Journal Cards paper from the Birdsong collection as my base. I love the rich navy tones in this collection..
I started by trimming the Journal Cards paper down to the size I needed to give me a good amount of a navy border from the Solids paper 1 that would be underneath. Then I distressed the edges and gave it a ripped edge along the bottom. To add dimension I glued it to thin cardboard before adhering it to the solid sheet. Next I began building my layers under the photo. For that I grabbed a few different pieces from the Birdsong Ephemera Bits pack. Once I was happy with the layers I glued them together, adding thin pieces of cardboard between some of the layers for more dimension.
I then began building my flower clusters. I chose the Nature’s Bounty in Cornflower as well as Garden Petals in Parchment. I also pulled some flowers, and leaves from the Birdsong Wildflower Laser Cuts pack. I included some tickets, birds, and birdcage from the Birdsong Laser Cut Elements pack to work into the clusters as well. I used a few smaller tickets from Ticket Essentials in Mariner to tuck among the flowers.
I decided the design needed a bit more so I grabbed the Birdsong Blendable Rub-on Transfer Set adding them around the flower cluster to the right of the photo. They are the perfect way to subtly add interest and detail to a design I think.
As a finishing touch, I added some art stones, and light blue micro beads to my clusters for a bit more detail and texture.
