My Little Man – Layout by Rebecca

Hi everyone,

It’s Rebecca with you on the blog today and I’m super excited to be sharing with you a new layout created with Dennis’ latest collection, ‘Rust and Revs’. It’s the perfect collection for scrapping the men and boys in your life!

I’ve had a set of photos of my son which were taken in 2018 and I’ve never had the right collection to scrap them… until now! I started with a sheet of patterned paper for my background. I love that the outer edges of the page have lots of detailing and the centre has a nice open space for me to build my layout.

I started by tearing a strip of patterned paper and laying it in the centre of the page. On top of this, I added one of the larger ‘Laser Cut Elements’. It is slightly bigger than my photo so frames it nicely. As always, my photo has a layer of foam behind it to add dimension and to keep it as the focal point.

Around the edges of my photo, I embellished with ‘Laser Cut Elements’ and ‘Die Cut Elements’. I absolutely love the vintage red car from the Laser Cuts, and it worked so well with my photo that I placed it prominently along the bottom of my photo.

For my title, I’ve used one of the phrases from the ‘Die Cut Elements’ and placed it at the top of my photo. Once I had all of these larger, main elements in place, I turned my attention to the smaller elements in the collection.

I absolutely adore the 49 and Market rub-on transfers. They are such amazing quality and are so easy to apply. I love to add them to my backgrounds to add detailing and a mixed media look.

The Rust and Revs collection comes with 3 sheets of rub-on transfers. I selected several and applied them around the edges of my clusters, and to the detailing already on the background paper.

Finally, I finished the layout with some of the ‘Epoxy Coated Stickers’ to bring a different texture to the layout.
