Joyous – Layout by Michelle Lee

Hello, Everyone!
Today I hope to inspire you with my newest layout that I created using the absolutely stunning Evergreen Season Collection. I chose to use the Festive Traditions paper and the Solids paper 2 for this layout. I think they complemented the photos I had so well.

To start I trimmed the Solids page 2 a half inch on the bottom and side of the paper. I ripped a section of the paper leaving a rough edge along the bottom. Then taking the second half of the Solids paper, I ripped a bit more off the top so that I would have a gap between the ripped sections after I adhered them to the Festive Traditions paper. I distressed the edges and applied some brown stitching rub ons from the Kaleidoscope Collection.

After gluing the layered photos to my background I concentrated on my flower clusters. I started building layers around my photos with pieces from the Evergreen Season Wildflower Laser Cuts pack as well as a few pieces from the Mini Laser Cuts set, using foam glue dots between the layers for added dimension. Topping off the largest cluster with a “Joyous” title from the Evergreen Season Chipboard Words pack.

Then I decided there needed to be another smaller flower cluster in the lower right corner to help balance the design. Once the clusters were all in place I added a bit more detail by going around the design with some of the rub ons from the Evergreen Season Essentials Rub on Transfers set and a few from the Vintage Artistry Everyday Essentials Rub on pack. For more texture and interest I added a few gold micro beads and gold sequins to the clusters. As a finishing touch I added a few light splatters of white acrylic paint to the design.
