Love – Layout by Rebecca

Hi everyone,

It’s Rebecca with you today, sharing a layout created with the amazing new Summer Porch collection. I simply adore this collection with its hues of blues and red with just a hint of green. I’m a sucker for anything coastal or nautical and this collection features both, so I’ve really been enjoying creating with it.

For this layout, I selected the ‘At Sea’ patterned paper for my background as I loved the mixed media effect. I’m a big fan of mixed media, but don’t often have the time (or the patience!) to build up the layers and wait for them to dry, so this type of patterned paper is always my go-to for a background.

I began by layering some of the larger Ephemera Bits, being careful to only select elements which were blue or red. I added some foam between the layers to introduce some dimension to the page.

On top of these layers, I positioned a couple of the ‘By Sea’ Laser Cut Elements. I really loved the weathered netting die cut and felt that it matched the design on my background really well. The red rope was longer than I wanted, and so I trimmed the ends off to shorten it and just used the centre piece which featured the chunky knot.

Using the port hole die cut as a frame, I positioned my photo to the right of the design, being careful to not cover up the word ‘sunshine’ on the left of my background.

To the bottom right of my photo, I added a small rowing boat die cut – because the photo I’ve scrapped on this layout is of my son sat in a rowing boat that we’d hired to travel down a river. It was an amusing hour to say the least, and I learnt that I have zero coordination when it comes to rowing!! On top of the boat, I’ve positioned my title – the word ‘love’ from the Chipboard Words.

I’ve created a small cluster in the top left corner using some of the ‘By Sea’ Laser Cut Elements, layered on top of each other.

To finish off the layout, I’ve added some elements to the background in certain areas. I’ve used some of the Washi Postage Roll and also some of the fantastic rub ons. (I’ve used some from the Blendable Rub On Transfer Set and also some from the Essentials Rub On Transfer Set). I always love the selection of rub ons that 49 and Market offer – they are always stunning in design and such amazing quality. I also made a couple of tears on the edges of the page and back-filled these with a dark blue cardstock from the Solids Collection Pack.

49 and Market products:

Thanks so much for reading – I do hope you’ve enjoyed the layout.
I can’t wait to see what you all create with this beautiful collection.

Take care,

Rebecca x
