Nicole here for my first 49 & Market blog post! I am sharing the layout that I made with the Vintage Artistry Countryside collection.
One of the first things that I did for this project was to audition (that means that I placed things about on my page to see how well they work) some of the leaves and flowers from the Countryside Laser Cut Wildflowers. After I made sure that everything was looking good, I took all of those off the page and then added some texture paste to the background. I used a brick stencil which I thought went really well with the kraft paper and the Christmas theme.
When building this page I had all my Countryside collection out on my desk already so just decided it has reds and greens just perfect for a Christmas collection. I just went with it and started playing! After my page was dry I used the Sunny Days patterned paper for the mat on my photo. The photo is of my youngest daughter sitting in front of the fireplace with her Santa hat on, which I just love! After putting this on my layout I started to build my leaves up again on either side.
After everything was in place again I started to turn up my leaves to make them pop of the page and I roughed up the edges to give them some interest. I then used some square foam stickers to bring them off the page even more. When all the leaves were down, I started to add the flowers. I first started by adding a big cluster of red flowers right in the middle. I immediately knew that it was too much. I went back and started to grab the smaller red flowers from the laser cuts and they fit perfectly!
Next, I decided to add a couple of the Countryside Ephemera Bits near the picture. I wanted to keep this layout pretty simple so I didn’t want a lot going on. I found a little green tab that I used to record the date and added it to the top of my photo. Then I found a red journal piece that I wrote some details on and added that to the bottom of the pic. I also found the piece that I’m using as my title in the ephemera as well. Printed on the packaging of the laser cuts was this little red bow that I fussy cut out and used on the bottom of my pic as well.
To finish off my layout I used some of my sprays to add some gold and white splatters for interest, and then it was done. Thanks so much for coming on here to read about my layout!
